My SAKK clothing is an ice breaker
conversation starter. ("Hey lady, where
do you get your jazz clothes?" The
clothing does more than cover my
body, it somehow translates into the
eyes and deletes the profanities. As I
have said, this is more than a shirt.
Our outer colors, which are only a
coincidence of how much melanin is
deposited on the surface of the skin,
disappears and the vibes from the
SAKK clothes is louder. All Are One
This may sound crazy, but it has shown
itself to be true so many times. The kids
I work with need constant messages
that it is OK to think "I am free to be
me". Their worlds are bound by the four
city blocks they live near. Many
teachers think that you have to present
yourself in a suit to have ultimate
classroom control. That is a boundary,
too.
